Injections are done through the outer skin into the underlying muscle or through the inner surface of the cheek from inside the mouth and are usually painless or cause a slight sting. This temporarily relaxes the masseter muscle, which prevents it from contracting excessively. No downtime for recovery is required for Teeth Grinding treatment, allowing you to return to work or normal activity immediately. It is important to not touch the treated area for at least 6 hours after the treatment and you avoid massaging or applying pressure to the area for a few days following treatments. While you are likely to experience minimal or no side effects following your treatments, the potential side effects may include redness or slight swelling to the injection site, pain, firmness, lumps and bumps, bruising, itching and discolouration. In most cases, these side effects are temporary and will resolve within a week.
