Lip Filler treatments can involve some discomfort. To reduce this, a prescription numbing cream is provided for certain treatment areas. The treatment involves the injection of the gel-like fluid through small needles, using different techniques to disperse the filler in a smooth and uniform way. The effect is immediate, but some swelling may be noticed for 24 to 48 hours, so the true effect may not be noticeable until then. It may take 3 to 4 weeks for the dermal filler to stabilise and fully settle into the skin.

- Apply ice/cool compress to reduce discomfort, swelling, and bruising.
- Do not apply makeup to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid lying down immediately after treatment and avoid strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours.
- Do not have any facial treatments such as lasers or peels for at least 2 weeks.
- Avoid touching your face or applying pressure to the treated area.
The most common side effects occur within 24 hours or immediately post-treatment. These include swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness.
