The treatment works by our expert Cosmetic Injectors injecting a precise amount of wrinkle relaxant into specific muscles, such as the masseter muscles in the jaw area. to temporarily relax the muscle and prevent excessive movement. This relaxation of the muscles reduces their size over time, resulting in a slimmer and more narrowing facial shape. This treatment can also assist to relieve tension in the jaw area and reduces pain caused by clenching and grinding of the teeth and jaw.
Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this increases the risk of bruising. Ibuprofen, Aspirin and Vitamin E should not be taken one week before the treatment. After booking and confirming your treatment, please make sure to complete the requested forms. On the day of your treatment, arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Please be on time, or even a bit early, if you want to really impress us.
Before starting your treatment, you will need a consultation with your Cosmetic Nurse who will then conduct an online consultation with the Prescribing Practitioner. From the consultation, an assessment of your treatment plan and prescription will be completed. With minimal discomfort, this treatment can be as quick as 5 to 15 minutes.
No downtime for recovery is required for anti-wrinkle treatments, allowing you to return to work or normal activity immediately. We recommend that you avoid massaging or applying pressure to the area that has been treated for a few days following treatments. It is also recommended that only mineral make-up should be worn. While you are likely to experience minimal or no side effects following your treatments, the potential side effects may include redness or slight swelling to the injection site, pain, firmness, lumps and bumps, bruising, itching and discolouration. In most cases, these side effects are temporary and will resolve within a week. We ask any patients who may be experiencing any side effects to reach out to their Skin Rejuvenate clinic where they had their treatment. Doing so will allow our expert medical team to step in, follow up, and ensure everything’s on track for your safety and satisfaction.
The duration of the results can vary between patients. You will need to have the treatments consistently to maintain the results of this treatment, we recommend repeating the treatment every 3-4 months, before the effects wear off completely and muscle movement returns to its pre-treatment state.
Facial slimming treatments are priced per unit of muscle relaxant product, with the number of units varying based on each individual’s needs.
